Mumbai: Dr Vishwanath Karnad Prathistana inaugurated

Mumbai, Dec 24: A programme was held at Tunga Paradise Hotel auditorium, Andheri east today to inaugurate Vishwanath Karnad Prathistana. Vishwanath Karnad was a professor, author and veteran organizer. Retired professor of Mysuru university Dr Kalegowda addressed the gathering.

The programme was presided over by Dr G N Upadhya, head of the department of Kannada, Mumbai University and president of Karnad Prathistana. Bharath cooperative bank founder president Varada Ullal unveiled the banner of the prathistana. Dr Vishwanath Karnad inaugurated the prathistana. Shivaji Uppoor, president of Bharath Bank, the chief guest released Pravasiya Odalu book written by Dr Vishwanath Karnad.

Recipient of Karnataka Rajyotsava award 2022, Devadas Shetty, Kannada department students Surekha H Devadiga, Anita P Poojary, Kala Bhagwath, Somashekar Mali Patel and Savita S Shetty were honoured.

Kala Bhagwath sang a prayer. Dr Vishwanath Karnad welcomed and introduced the guests. Karthik Sanil, Dr Pallavi Sanil, Suchitra Poojary, Rohith Karnad, Sharath Karnad and Neelima Karnad felicitated the guests. Mundkoor Surendra Salian gave an introduction and compered the programme. Sharath Karnad rendered a vote of thanks.
