Udupi: Voter list revision – 16,804 applications for inclusion, 5,783 for removal

Udupi, Dec 10: Deputy commissioner (DC) M Kurma Rao said that 16804 new voters have applied to include their names in the voter list during special revision of the same. At the same time, 5,783 people have applied to delete their names from the list. Including 13,320 applications for necessary changes, 35,907 applications were received.

In the video conference that was held at the DC office on Friday, Rao said, “Necessary action should be taken to provide EPIC cards for new voters at the earliest. New additions, objections and amendments in the voter lists and all other details need to be given to all political parties.”

The DC also instructed all tahsildars to systematically and orderly do the verification of all the applications received from the public during the special voter list revision drive.

Additional DC Veena B N, commissioner of provident fund Abhishek, implementation officers of various departments were present. Assistant commissioner Raju and tahsildars interacted with the DC through video.
