Abu Dhabi: UAE Sends Relief Material for Displaced Libyans

Abu Dhabi, May 21 (IANS/WAM) A United Arab Emirates plane left for Tunisia Friday with relief material for displaced Libyan citizens who have taken refuge in that country.

The 38-tonnes of aid, provided by the Khalifa bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation (KHF) and UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA), included medicines, medical material and equipment.

It will be distributed to the hospitals at the Tunisian-Libyan borders to assist in the treatment of the Libyans who have now moved to Tunisia.

The two organisations have made available hundreds of tonnes of medical supplies, bought from the local markets in Tunisia, to support the efforts for providing medical treatment to the injured people and to those who suffer chronic diseases like kidney failure.
