Learn From US How to Deal with Terrorism: Bal Thackeray

Mumbai, May 4 (IANS): Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray Wednesday exhorted India to "learn" how to deal with terrorism from the US which killed Osama bin Laden without bothering about the reactions of its allies.

In an editorial in Wednesday's Dopahar Ka Saamna, the party's mouthpiece in Hindi, Thackeray said the US showed guts and eliminated Osama inside the heart of Pakistan.

"The US forces entered Pakistan and finished off Osama. It is for this boldness and strategy that the US is the headman of the world," Thackeray noted.

He pointed out that the US does not bother about its allies and deals with them as the situation requires and referred to the examples of former Iraq dictator Saddam Hussein and besieged Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi, whose family members were killed in a US attack a day before Osama was gunned down in Pakistan's Abbottabad.

In contrast, Thackeray said India's peaceful policies have not permitted her to bring to book most wanted persons like mafia don Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar, gangster Tiger Memon, Jaish-e-Mohammed founder Azhar Masood and many others.

    Forget dealing with Terrorism. The congress is busy fishing for vote bank even with this issue. They are more bothered about the buriel rituals of Osama which they are not happy with, than dealing with terrorisem etc. Can Digvijay or congress fall down below this level ?

    All the politicians associated
    with various political parties,
    who are causing blood bath for the
    sake of political gains must be
    considered as " terrorists", and
    must be dealt likewise without any
    mercy.

    It is terrible and bewildering to
    look back and count the
    number of the dead in India through
    political killings. How those
    political leaders must be
    graded?

    To do what the Americans did,our politicians have to rise above petty cheap inter/intra-party politics in the supreme interest of the country and society at large.I think we in India need a Geronimo like operation targeting some of our corrupt politicians.

    Mr. Thackeray, is this message for the |Congress, BJP or left parties? bcoz Congress and Left are lame ducks, who will not do anything, and BJP should have done somethin of which you were part of the Central Govt from 1998 to 2004???nothing was done, infact the foreign minister accomponied 3 dreaded terrorist to Kandhar at the dawn 0f 1999. India is a soft state.

    This time I totally agree with Bal Thackeray. First time he spoke some sense instead of only Marati and Maharastrian.
