Kuwait : High Winds, Sandstorms, Rain Likely on May 1


KUWAIT, May 1 (Kuwait Times): Changeable weather, bringing scattered showers, sandstorms and winds exceeding 80 kilometers per hour, is likely to persist until this evening, according to senior local meteorologist Mohammad Karam.

Karam, the head of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation's (DGCA) meteorology center, said yesterday that rainfall could be heavy in some areas, with scattered showers and strong winds set to persist throughout the night and into today, gradually dying out this evening. The sandstorms may take slightly longer to die down, he explained, adding that they may affect some areas well into Sunday night.
