Dalit Sena warns if Ravan burned, Ram's effigy will also go up in flames

Kalaburagi, Oct 5 (IANS): There was high vigil in Kalaburgi district on Dussehra day on Wednesday following the Dalit Sena's announcement that if the effigy of Ravan is burnt, the effigy of Lord Ram would also be set on fire.

The Dalit Sena is opposing the organisation of Ravan dahan programme in which effigy of Ravan would be burnt on the occasion of the Vijaya Dashami (Dussehra).

Police said that Hindu groups have organised burning of a 50-foot tall Ravan effigy in the premises of the Appa Jatra Grounds in Kalaburagi.

Dalit organisations have objected to it and claimed that the programme is being held without permission from the authorities. They have further warned that they will burn the effigy of Ram, if Hindu activists burn Ravan's effigy.

In light of the stiff resistance, the Hindu organisations have dropped the programme burning of the effigy of Ravan and will celebrate other rituals.

In India, dalits are a class of people who are denied the honour and respect accorded to others. Days are not far away for dalits to resist the caste system and endeavour to create a society that values respect for everyone. Hope, this incident is a beginning in that direction.

who is keeping caste system alive?..caste system alive because of quota/reservation..even so called upper caste are fighting to be categarised as lower caste to get quota..lets say they are converting due to caste system, then why prefix Dalit once again in his new religion!!..you know very well this..dont deny it, they are categarised separately..can you blame RSS/or Brahmins for this.. percentage of Brahmins may be in decimals...very few political representation left (BJP main consist of OBCs), how many getting jobs after all quotas exhausted..even temple priest also in many temples are from other caste.. thier numbers so dwindled they even struggle to get bride now a days..

139,045 cases under crime against Dalits have been registered in different states between 2018 and 2020 with 50,291 such crimes reported in the year 2021. This is the figure given by govt to parliament. Any right minded person will be happy if there is resistance from dalits to stop such acts of crime on them by the people of the same religion. Shame on such higher caste people who think these dalits are inferior to them.

This is the dangerous after effect of sowing the seeds of religious venom...... Once you create divisions in the minds of the people basis Religion, it won't just stop there...... They will explore the next reason for dividing within Religion basis Caste, sub-caste, creed, colour, faith and what not .... The society is going to be fragmented and the Religion with the largest number of Castes / Sub-castes / Gods / religious practices is going to be the biggest sufferer...... These kind of incidents are just the beginning of this rot, thanks to BJP

Dalit Sena. New development we are hearing. How this came into existence. Not to be heard of all these new opposing factions before 2014. For every action of this evil govt there is equal and opposite reaction.
