Oct 4: Dakshina Kannada reports four Covid cases, three infections in Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi, Oct 4: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, October 4, reported four new coronavirus cases while three cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,37,063, out of which 43 are currently active. As many as three patients were discharged on October 4.

No deaths were reported on October 4. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,860.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 0.98 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.


Three coronavirus cases were reported on October 4. The total active Covid cases are 20.

A total of 10,90,756 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,85,422 have received both doses and 2,92,138 people have received booster doses.

Udupi taluk reported two cases while one infection was from Karkala taluk. All three cases reported were symptomatic.
