Bengaluru, Oct 2: Karnataka on Sunday, October 2, reported 78 new coronavirus cases.
As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 2861. Bengaluru urban's single-day tally is 8.
No deaths were reported due to coronavirus in the state on Sunday. The death toll in the state has risen to 40,242.
The state recorded 52 discharges from hospitals on Sunday, taking the total discharges to 40,21,912.
So far, Karnataka has seen 40,65,057 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
The positivity rate for the day stands at 0.56 %. As many as 12,01,35,271 people have received vaccination so far.
