Saudi-Indian Art Expo Begins Later This Week


Dubai, Apr 26 (PTI) An exhibition showcasing the works of dozens of contemporary Saudi and Indian women artists will be on display here later this week.

The exhibition, at the National Museum in Saudi capital, will be held on Saturday by the National Museum?s Consultative Commission in conjunction with the Indian Embassy, "Women in Art: Reflections".

A lecture "75 years of Contemporary Indian Art" will also be delivered as part of the exhibition.

As many as 36 Saudi and 18 Indian women and their art will be included in the exhibition.

Organizers said this is aimed at seeking to "develop the creative works of Saudis by displaying outstanding examples of cultural contributions from other countries".

The art to be displayed will range from paintings and drawings to sculpture, photography and digital art, and will be open to the public for five weeks.
