Mumbai Airport Shut for Five Hours Saturday

Mumbai, April 23 (IANS) Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport remained shut for five hours Saturday and will be closed again next Saturday for maintenance work, an official said.

All flights landing at or departing from Mumbai during this slot on both days have been rescheduled.

However, the official said that major flight delays are not expected since all airlines had been informed well in advance about the closure between 11.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on the two days.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is in the process of carrying out major maintenance work on the main runway, including shifting and realigning of the edge and centre lights of the runway.
