Mumbai: Konkani Triveni Kala Sangam Celebrates Konkani Utsav

Mumbai, Apr 23: Konkani Triveni Kala Sangam(KTKS), one of the famed Konkani organizations engaged in the vocation of patronizing Konkani language through theater movement and recently made its entry into Limca Book of Records, ardently celebrated the day-long Konkani Utsav here on Friday April 22. 

 


The fest was organized at Yogi auditorium, Dadar East, here. Former president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee R V Deshpande and non-executive independent director of Tata Global Beverage Limited V Leeladhar were the chief guests and they inaugurated the programme.

Unity Infraprojects Limited secretary K Kishore Shekar, NKGSB bank secretary Mahesh Aras, Natural Ice-cream group’s administrative director Raghunandan S Kamath, Hangue Ice-cream group’s promoter Hanumanth M Pai, Maharashtra state’s retired higher official D S Sultankar and advocate M V Kini were present as guests of honour.    

Konkani Triveni Kala Sangam’s president Ullal Kamath delivered the key note address.  He said that through the medium of drama, they have spread awareness about Konkani language across the world and their efforts will continue in the days to come.

Addressing the gathering chief guest Deshpande said that the contribution of KTKS to preserve and create awareness about Konkani language over the past 30 years is commendable. He lauded the artistes who played a major role in staging of dramas produced through KTKS. He suggested that the organization should also cater to the educational needs in future.

Konkani Utsav committee president and Saraswath Bank’s working president Ekanath Thakur welcomed the gathering. Briefing on the significance of Konkani language he said that Konkani and Marati languages are like twins.

Aparna Ullal presented a welcome song. H N Pai Haldipur compered the programme.  Chief secretary Ashok Nayak proposed the vote of thanks.
