Safat / Kuwait, Sep 13:
United Mangaloreans Kuwait (UMK) celebrated the Feast of Nativity of Mary (Monti Fest) at Salmiya, here on Saturday September 11.

Lionel Mascarenhas recited a bead of rosary to start the festal celebrations in a traditional manner, followed by singing of Konkani hymn Sakkad sangatha melyam in honour of Infant Mary.

The blessed new paddy-sheaves were distributed to the members by Lucy Aranha and Avil Fernandes. A session of self-introduction was held by all UMK member and guests, to know each other, more closely.

Albert Saldanha greeted senior members of UMK.  Veeda Coutinho greeted the bachelors of UMK. Meanwhile, the prayers were offered to Infant Mary for the success of forthcoming mega event – ‘Fun filled evening – 2010’ which will be held here on Friday October 1. UMK Gurkar Agnel Saldanha compered the programme.
