Rajtilak Naik to Head Photo Journalist Association Goa

Panaji, Aug 18: The Photo Journalist Association Goa in collaboration with the Department of Information and Publicity & Entertainment Society of Goa will celebrate their 3rd Anniversary on the ocassion of the World Photography Day, 19th August 2010 at the Entertainment Society of Goa in Panaji.
      
New executive committee headed by Rajtilak Naik of The Times of India will be installed formally in the presence of Chief minister Digambar Kamat, Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar and Menino Peres Director Information & Publicity, Govt of Goa. The other members of the executive committe are Immediate Past President Barnabe Sapeco of Goa Today, General Secretary Atish Naik of Gomantak Times, Treasurer Rozario Estibeiro of O Herald, Vice President (South) Sagun Gawade of Sunuparant and Vice President (North) Kailas Naik of Lokmat.



Two senior Photographers Palmira Coutinho from Panaji and Prakash Raikar from Velim will be presented with Late Madhukar Soiru Komarpant Lifetime Achievement Award for their dedicated contribution in the field of Photography followed by the prize distribution ceremony of the School students Photography competition organized by PJAG.

Vishnu Surya Wagh, Media advisor to the Government of Goa will deliver the keynote address on the 'Importance of Photo Journalism' in newspapers. The event will be followed by the release of the special 3rd Anniversary Exhibition Directory and the inauguration of the News Photography exhibition featuring the works of 20 Photo Journalists, representing various newspapers in the state.

The News Photography exhibition will be open for the general public from 19th August to 21st August 2010 at the Art Gallery of the Entertainment Society of Goa in Panaji.

    Sir ,
    recently I was stopped at a nakabandi , a regular feature in Mumbai city ensuring the safety of the citizens
    The thing being i was stopped because my friend who was riding pillion was taking pictures from my camera, they threatened me that they will destroy my camera even when i was completely co-operatiing with them.
    What I want to understand is can people take pictures of the streets in mumbai or does one have to take permission for doing so and can the police threaten you like that?
