Udupi: Visit to Attur pilgrim centre is not for fair but for saint, say devotees

Udupi, Jan 22: Today was the fifth day of the annual feast of St Lawrence pilgrim centre at Karkala. Though the number of devotees is less, they were heard saying that they are visiting not to go about in the fair but for the saint.

The number of devotees had increased substantially during all the five masses held on Friday January 22. The festivities had begun on January 18. The number of devotees is likely to increase further during the weekend. Novena prayers and special prayers for the sick were held.

Moodubelle priest Fr Chales Furtado, Gantalkatte priest Fr Ronald Prakash D’ Souza, Aladangadi priest Fr Navin Pinto, Sandesh foundation director Fr Assisi Almeida and Palimar priest Fr Rock D’ Souza were the celebrants of the Masses.

Masses will be held at 8 am, 10 am, 12 pm 3 pm and 5 on Saturday, as usual on the sixth day of the festival.
