Tumkur: Netizens demand dismissal of DHO, nursing college principal over fake vaccination process

Tumkur, Jan 20: A video of DHO Nagendrappa and government nursing college principal Rajani pretending to get vaccinated with the Covaxin just for a photo op has given rise to controversies.

The programme of vaccinating the corona warriors was set in motion in the district hospital in Tumkur on January 16. DHO Nagendrappa who should have encouraged the corona warriors to get vaccinated only pretended to receive the vaccination, with the needle just touching him. Government nursing college principal Rajani also posed for the camera with a health staff barely touching her with the injection.

This act by the DHO and the principal of the nursing college has drawn sharp criticism.

Meanwhile, social media users have also demanded that officials present strong evidence towards the safety of the vaccine. The netizens also maintained that photographs, videos of top officials getting vaccinated cannot be considered as proof for the efficacy of Covaxin.

People have urged senior officials to take action and suspend the DHO and the college principal for their deception.

    How mean these people are!! Really, even god will not forgive such jackals if asked forgiveness. Why these people consider their lives are precious and don't want to die? They tried to escape from vaccination but from death no one can escape... Everyones life is equally important like these highly paid employees..!! Shame...shame

    this is what I said in this column even before the vaccination started.

    the govt itself is not confident of the vaccine effect. They are just using D class workers as guinea pigs.

    Why this show?If it was me,I would have given a good thick needle to their muscle ,deep in.other side was it only show or got the vaccine?how can one give injection with one hand?without supporting with other hand?of course it is possible.Let it be .ususally other people who are in need of vaccine should have given the first chance.
