Bengaluru: ‘Forego fear, send children to school’ - Education minister Suresh Kumar assures parents

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Dec 30: On January 1, 2021, 10th and 12th standard classes will start in the state as per the decision taken in the meeting that was presided over by chief minister B S Yediyurappa under the guidance of Karnataka state Covid technical advisory committee. The government is also continuing the Vidyagama programme for other grades in government schools.

Education minister Suresh Kumar visited various schools and colleges on Wednesday December 30 and inspected the precautions taken, protocol and other necessary arrangements to ensure safety of students. He also had interaction with teachers and parents of students to know whether they are interested in starting schools and how they are getting themselves prepared. The parents of students were also asked to come to the schools.

Speaking to the parents, minister Suresh Kumar said, "Send your children to school without any fear. All precautionary measures are being taken by the school authorities. Health department is also working in tandem with the school administration. Even then, if you are scared to send your wards to school, we will not pressurize you to send them to school. It is not mandatory to attend school but voluntary.

"Only when children attend school, they study well. Lessons have to be learnt with the teachers. Online education is not that effective for our children. Parents have to send consent letters with their children. Classes will be held with facemask on, maintaining social distance and using hand sanitizers.

"All other activities have started after the Covid-19 lockdown was lifted. This decision is taken in order to prevent the inordinate postponement of schools and allow children to have direct interaction with teachers.

"Children living in Bengaluru are getting online education. However, the children of the poorer section of the society, who live in remote villages are being deprived of both online and offline education. In many areas children are being sent for child labour. Many complaints are received by our department that adolescent girls are being married off in backward villages as there are no schools functioning now. Children are being kept away from education. Schools are being started with the intention of keeping students engaged in continuous education.

"If the students, who attend schools, have cold, fever, cough, they will be kept in separate room and suitable medical treatment will be given,” he said.

I would agree with Dev for what he has written earlier and now.It is a fact that Covid positive mothers delivered healthy new borns and the infant, child and adult mortality rates of 2020 are less than 2019 , many "positive" elderly above 90 survived without problems ,yet it was called "Mahamari" "Maha" means big and "mari" means killer !!!. Those affected has comorbidities and there is a difference in dying "with" Covid and dying "because of " Covid. Also though the outbreak of Covid was first noticed in Nov/Dec 2019, in India lockdown etc started in late March 2020 coinciding with the rise in Anti CAA protests, the virus mutated any number of times but the scare of the invisible "second wave" of the British and Denmark mutation coincided with the farmers agitation !!!

Dear parents, please think over the decision of reopening of the schools and act wisely. Remember, our children are the grace from God and it is our responsibility to protect and take care of them. Their health and safety is a priority of every parent. Please don't fall prey for false assurances of politicians. Time is the witness that politicians always take decisions for their benefits.. God bless us all and stay safe 🙏💐❤

Let all insane talking nonsense sacrifice their children.
Why international flights are still suspended till Jan 31st can’t you Forgo fear and take it on!!!

Greed for money has become more important fir you than our children’s life. Even one child’s life among thousands should not be risked as it can be your own child.
Get the facts right on COVID and it’s vaccine sorted for public first, then lie and talk nonsense. Cold blooded idiots just speak and support anything they want to achieve their common selfish goals.
Parents should not sacrifice their child falling for these idiotic statements.
Have parliament functions full fledged without masks and show us all is fine like leaders don’t play games like cowards!!

Can the learned minister explain why parliament and assembly are not fully functional. It does not make sense to open now whatever explaination you have. Its a matter of another 3 months after which summer vacation starts hence it makes sense to open schools after that. If minister is so desperate let him focus on more important things that the govt. Should be focussing on. Looks like he has not learnt hs lessons after becoming a victim.himself and other countries have shit schools after opening..and now wants to put children at risk.

My question is when Assembly called few days back ,most of the MLAs not attended,so they stopped session within few days. Why MLAs not attended????. Government must think again regarding starting of school. Now also they can postpone another 15 days , like night Curfew they took decision.

Child morality due to Covid without comorbidity is very rare, because of Thymus and T cells children are well protected. The fear of Covid present in the minds of parents has to go away.Chidren have lost a precious year of life, how long can they sit at home. The minister is absolutely right. Let us all lead a normal life.Viral infections will come and go.

People believe more fake media than real data you have given, the reason is it is bombarded into their brains from March itself as it is dangerous, but in reality it is just like any other cold infection by same family of viruses having mortality rate of 0.000003%. Only a handful of kids were in the list of deaths with covid but not due to covid which conveys real picture of the ordinary virus which has no potency to take lives more than a flu virus.
99.997% of people got cured without any medications which never qualifies to be labelled as a Pandemic, but people believe anything on media as truth. An eminent doctor who uploads daily youtube videos had told in March itself- don't tune into any TV channels or read reports of numbers as they are doing the job of creating fear & panic which itself will cause death than any viral infections. Fear lowers immunity just like wearing mask which reduces oxygen supply too.

An infection which involves large number of people across countries and continents is called a pandemic and this COVID 19 certainly is. It has nothing to do with cure rates. Dont be fooled by the cure rates of those getting infected but more worrisome is the long term effects that this infection has on the heart, lungs, brain, kidneys and various organs. Only people who have suffered from this infection know what they and their families have gone through or what awaits then in the future. So, stop being complacent and spreading a false narrative of COVID 19 being just another infection which will not cause harm. We wont realise how serious it is until it hits home. So be safe, be healthy. If you dont have your health, you wont have a future. And the future is something none of us know.

My dear, though your explanation is convincing a bit , what about the elderly people present in d home? Children mught be having immunity but they can transmit d virus to the family members and if their grandparents get it, they won't have d same immunity like d children and subsequent their life is in danger because of d wrong decision taken by d Education minister. Who is going to be responsible for their loss? Even d consent form which I received from d school for my kids, it states that the parents are solely responsible for any risk and not d school. How confident r we to agree to this decision of him?

The parliament has not opened yet but they are opening schools for children. What is the value for life of students.? I don't feel it's safe for students . Apart from education , students health is most important . We heard recently about B.1.1.7 virus entered India through Britain .. So please stop it. Parents no need to send the children to school at this point of time
