Mangaluru, Dec 28: Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd (KEONICS) chairman Harikrishna Bantwal in his maiden press meet as a chairman, on Thursday December 28, said that he will submit a memorandum to chief minister B S Yediyurappa urging him to sanction a model Information Technology (IT) Park in memory of first chairman of KEONICS Bantwal Ramakrishna Baliga.

Terming the Electronic City in Bengaluru as a brain child of Ramakrishna Baliga, Harikrishna said, "Globally Bengaluru is widely regarded as the Silicon Valley of India. Reason behind the Electronic City was Baliga. No one has recognised the contribution of Baliga or honoured him for his immense contribution. Today, nearly 4 lac employees are working for various companies on the 332 acre land in Electronic City. Several national and international companies operate there.

"If the government approves the IT Park in Mangaluru, nearly 20,000 youths in the district will be employed and the problem of unemployment will be solved," he said.

He also said that the issue has been brought to the notice of BJP state unit president Nalin Kumar Kateel and deputy chief minister Ashwath Narayan. "To establish IT Park, there should be cooperation from educational institutions and private sectors. And, Mangaluru is the only city in the state which has access to all modes of transportation. The information technology hub would come up base on Israel model with advanced technologies."

He further said that there is a requirement of 100 acres of land in the city to establish the IT Park and it is available. Then, Mangaluru will be identified globally, he said adding that approval has been granted to set up a software hub on a three-acre land at Derebail.

Elon Musks TESLA company is planning to open its electric vehicle factory in India. Try to grab that investment to Mangalore. As Mangalore is a port city its easy to import and export raw materials. Right now Mangalore MP Nalin kumar is state prez of ruling party. Try hard to get that american MNC to Mangalore. There is compaettion from andra and maharastra.

Readers, make no mistake.... one of the major reasons, why INC lost elections, was primarily due to blatant neglect... " Non Development of Infrastructures " in Dakshin Kannada district, under sucessive Congress governments.. This land is the cradle of educaton, has produced professionals from every field, yet has not been able to provide them a decent source of livelihood... Hope this government does not commit the same cardinal mistake and in earnest encourage and develop industrial and IT sectors, in the vicinity of this developing metropolis....

Mangalore definitely needs an IT park very soon. More companies such as Microsoft, Google, Accenture, Facebook and Capgemini have to establish their offices in Mangalore. This city has a good ecosystem of educated talent, but people have to travel to other cities for jobs. Both Mangalore and Udupi top the PU results every year in the state. We need more Product based companies and research (R&D) firms to be established in Mangalore. Artificial Intelligence based companies have to be established in Mangalore, along with those working on Augmented Reality.
This city is the only place in Karnataka to have an International Airport and a Major Seaport. The Airport's runway also needs expansion. Our elected representatives have to improve the overall infrastructure and make sure that adequate job opportunities are available to the people of Mangalore.

In karnataka all are development zones is on the border region of different states
be it Devanhalli , Mangalore , Belgaum and the recent Apple smart mobile factory
trouble maker a re from ngbd states If really our local south kanara educated boys , are to get full benefit then udupi not Mangalore is chosen as the next IT , hardware , software , centre of excellence , space , DRDO , ISRO , railways , Govt sponsored factory (laloo prasda style ) manufacturing of
High powered railway engine , metro coach factory
Incubation centre , tourism , well ness centre etc
The reason being then our local educated student need not venture outside for jobs as they will get ample job and entrepreneurial opportunity
and can utilize the extra time in agriculture and money in staying in their ancestral house rather than spending crores in small sizes flat when they built lavish bungalow in their plot and enjoying fresh air and clean water here
Upudi district has to be well equipped by having airport , 5G telecom connectivity , 24 *7 power supply , 24 &7 water & gas piped , water for drinking as well as for agriculture by constructing vent dams throughout the Mangalore and upudi district by having canal irrigation and also setting up pvt and govt industrial estate in every zilla be it micro , mini , small & mega with PPP arrangement

    We should have :
Defense Labs/Defense Industrial base off Mangalore.

Engineers connected to them with AI/Digital platforms.
3/Initiate young students to start working on Apps like TIKTOK/PAYTM..
4/Set up Micro/small/medium/Large industrial belts/parks/corridors.with proper Infra structure like in Singapore /Dubai/Abudhabi.
    neat .. great infra.
    with all connectivity :
    Rail/road/ air connectivity.
    make it a model platform.
start talking to and addressing Mangaloreans.. males/females t o start thinking of manufacture of products which are being imported now. especially out of china
    go for Backward integration..
    Value addition
    reverse engineered.
    frugal engineered.
    value for money.
set up Electronic components factories set up like in TAIWAN.

    do not crowd mangalore.
but adopt some village only for these Set ups amidst Greenery.

need of the hour is to create awareness among local population on how to prep for central and state government jobs. instead of going to Bangalore and working for a meagre salary in a private firm one can try for a govt job in south canara and lead a peaceful life. U will hardly find anyone trying for govt jobs here in Mangalore.... we have 7 MLAs in the district, each of them should weild their influence to ensure youths from their constituency get govt jobs in the district, which today is all filled by people from outside districts/state.
