Dec 9: Dakshina Kannada records 34 fresh corona cases, 2 deaths; Udupi reports 14 new infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Dec 9: As per the Dakshina Kannada health bulletin the district reported 34 fresh coronavirus cases on Wednesday raising the tally to 32,213. Out of these, 428 cases are currently active.

A total of 3,92,271 samples have been tested. Out of which, 3,60,058 are negative.

As many as 81 people were discharged on Wednesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 31,061.

A total of 724 deaths have occured so far, including two deaths on Wednesday.

Over 16,161 mask violations were reported in the Dakshina Kannada district and Rs 17,21,172 in fines have been collected by the authorities.

Udupi

The coronavirus tally in the district has risen to 22,828, including 14 fresh cases on Wednesday. Out of these, 136 cases are currently active.

Over 2,59,938 samples have been tested so far, of which 2,37,110 have turned out negative.

As many as 13 patients were discharged on Wednesday. The total number of recoveries has climbed to 22,505.

A total of 187 deaths have occured so far.
