Moodbidri: Apostolic Carmel congregation sesquicentennial celebration held at Carmel School

Moodbidri, Dec 2: To commemorate the sesquicentennial celebration of the Apostolic Carmel congregation in India, the management and staff of Carmel School CBSE, Holy Rosary Composite PU College and Holy Rosary High School Moodbidri celebrated the day with great enthusiasm.

The programme began by rendering gratitude for the abundant blessings showered on the Apostolic Carmel congregation for the past 150 years. This was followed by a meaningful prayer service that invoked God’s blessings on the Apostolic Carmel congregation that has been a beacon of light for 150 years.



The principal, Sr Jyothi Saldanha welcomed the resource person Dr Sr Jeswina AC, former principal of St Agnes Degree College along with all the gathering. The auspicious occasion commenced with the lighting of diya as a tribute to Venerable Mother Veronica. On the occasion, Sr Jeswina spoke on Mother Mary Aloysia AC, founder of the Apostolic Carmel Institutions. Dr Sr Jeswina in her address highlighted the efforts and achievements of Mother Mary Aloysia AC who was a great visionary who dreamed to empower young girls in society. She also mentioned the golden rules of faith formation, reading habits, legible handwriting, educational policies, maintaining registers, etc to be followed in the institutions.

Dr Sr Jeswina the resource person encouraged all the alumni to take a bold step of empowering students by enabling their growth intellectually, academically, economically and spiritually to mark the celebration of the sesquicentennial year.

Sr Nithya Fernandes compered the programme while Jasmine proposed the vote of thanks.
