Kadaba: Newly formed taluk panchayat to get well-equipped building

Kadaba, Nov 28: The government has given its administrative sanction for constructing a new, well-equipped building for Kadaba taluk. The work will begin by the end of December this year.

The revenue department has already marked the borders for the 1.19 acre plot for the taluk panchayat and PWD which will be located one by the side of the other. Already an old building standing there has been repaired and an office has been opened.

 

The new grant falls under the category of zilla panchayat office buildings construction and maintenance. The new building will have an auditorium, offices etc. Out of Rs 4.5 crore sanctioned, Rs 1.5 crore has already been released. The grant has to be utilised before March next year.

Already president, vice president and standing committee elections have been held for the taluk panchayat. Currently, Puttur taluk panchayat executive officer is discharging duty additionally as the executive officer of Kadaba.

Sullia MLA S Angara, said that already a detailed report containing requirements of staff, computers etc has been submitted to the government. He assured that in phases grants will be released for these necessities and Kadaba taluk panchayat will be a full-fledged institution shortly.
