Nov 23: Dakshina Kannada records 28 fresh corona cases, 4 deaths; Udupi reports 11 new infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Nov 23: As per the Dakshina Kannada health bulletin the district reported 28 fresh coronavirus cases on Monday raising the tally to 31,594. Out of these, 550 cases are currently active.

A total of 3,36,184 samples have been tested. Out of which, 3,04,590 are negative.

As many as 53 people were discharged on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries to 30,336.

A total of 708 deaths have occured so far, including four on Monday.

Over 13,984 mask violations were reported in the Dakshina Kannada district and Rs 15,11,242 in fines have been collected by the authorities.

Udupi

The coronavirus tally in the district has risen to 22,523, including 11 fresh cases on Monday. Out of these, 181 cases are currently active.

Over 2,28,461 samples have been tested so far, of which 2,05,938 have turned out negative.

As many as 28 patients were discharged on Monday. The total number of recoveries has climbed to 22,155.

A total of 187 deaths have occured so far.

    I dont understand why the death rate is so high in D.K. This is really unfortunate. I hope govt takes a note of this and takes some proactive action to reduce the death rates.
