Puttur, Oct 29: In a tragic incident that occurred at Sampya in the taluk, a lady killed herself by jumping into a pond.

Madhushree (26) is the spinster, who lost her life in this incident. She was an employee of a private hospital where she used to work for the past four years.

A case is registered in Sampya police station based on the complaint filed by her uncle and the note Madhushree has allegedly written in her diary about the mental harassment and life threat her former love Devikiran used to give her.

Madhushree was a resident of Banglegudde of Sampaje village. She was working in a private hospital since four years and used to stay in the hostel of the hospital during night. During her holidays, she used to visit her grandmother's house most of the time. It is learnt that she visited her grandmother's house on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 28. After having her lunch she went to the farmland and jumped into the pond.

Vittal Gowda, uncle of deceased Madhushree, alleged that the mental torture inflicted by her former lover Devikiran is the reason for the extreme step taken by her. Sampya police is investigating further.
