Oct 25: Three deaths, 139 new corona cases in Dakshina Kannada; Udupi tally up by 118

Mangaluru/Udupi, Oct 25: Dakshina Kannada on Sunday October 25 recorded 139 fresh coronavirus cases and three deaths, while Udupi reported 118 new cases.

As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 2,25,373 samples have been tested so far, out of which 2,15,833 have turned out to be negative.

With this, coronavirus cases in Dakshina Kannada district have risen to 29,540, including 139 new cases reported on Sunday. Out of these, 2,541 cases are currently active.

As many as 211 people were discharged on Sunday, taking the total number of recoveries to 26,336.

A total of 663 deaths have occured so far, including three on Sunday.

The district administration has stressed that people need to wear masks while stepping outside, and anyone not wearing mask in public places would be penalized. So far, 9,550 violations have been reported in the district, and a total of Rs 10,82,005 has been collected in fines.


Udupi

As per the Udupi district health bulletin, a total of 1,70,583 samples have been tested so far, out of which 1,49,059 have turned out to be negative.

The coronavirus tally in the district has risen to 21,524, including 118 fresh cases on Sunday. Out of these, 1,257 cases are currently active.

As many as 175 patients were discharged on Sunday. The total number of recoveries has climbed to 20,102.

Out of the 118 new cases, 90 are asymptomatic. While Udupi reported 58 cases, Kundapur recorded 25, Karkala 34 and one was from outside the district.

Among the 118, as many as 95 are in home isolation, while the rest have been admitted to Covid care centre or hospital.
