Mangaluru, Oct 23: Police commissioner Vikas Kumar Vikash along with district health officer Dr Ramachandra Bayari inaugurated department of diagnostic and interventional radiology here at SCS Hospital on Friday October 23.

Addressing the gathering, the police commissioner said, "SCS Hospital has served people for the last 33 years. It is a proud moment for the management to see from where you started and where you reached in the last 33 years. Innovative technologies have come to place which give a lot of positivity to the hospital.”

District health officer Dr Ramachandra Bayari said, "Thirty-three years ago, the health sector was not so developed and hospitals did not have much machines except x-ray machine and stethoscopes. Today, innovative technologies have taken over. Diagnostic and interventional radiology inaugurated here can be useful to the public.

“Nurses, workers, and staffs of the hospital need to be appreciated who worked relentlessly during this pandemic wearing PPE kits for close to six hours. In the last one week, the number of cases and death rate has come down, but at the same time, people should not neglect taking all kind of preventive measures during this pandemic. As it is a festive season, people are taking the pandemic lightly. They should never forget 'SMS' that is social distancing, mask and sanitizing,” he said.

Meanwhile, Best Employee Award 2020 was distributed among nursing and non-nursing staffs. Prizes were distributed to the winners of essay writing competitions.

Dr Arjun welcomed the gathering, Leona Sequeira rendered the vote of thanks, and Anand and Ashwin compered the event.

Chairman and managing director SCS Hospital Dr Jeevaraj Sorake was also present.
