Fitbit Sense gets ECG app functionality in US and Europe

San Francisco, Oct 10 (IANS): Fitbit Sense smartwatch has started receiving the ECG App functionality in few countries which was not available at its launch.

The wearable received US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as well as Conformite Europeenne (CE) approval in the EU to record ECG recently, and now the smartwatch has already started getting the update in the US, the Uk and Germany, reports GizmoChina.

The report says that countries like India are also on the list but the exact date of getting the update is unknown.

One can also install it by downloading the app from the Fitbit official website or trying it via the Fitbit app on the smartphone. After installing, go to Assessments & Reports->Discover Tab->Heart Rhythm assistant.

After accepting the terms, one can open the ECG app on Fitbit Sense and complete the setup.

The ECG, or electrocardiogram, allows users to gain insight into their heart's performance and possible conditions, like irregular or erratic heartbeats.

The Sense is the first Fitbit to gain the functionality and now puts it on par with the Apple Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 and Withings ScanWatch.
