Puttur: Father protests on Hathras rape incident, son arrested for harassing woman

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Oct 7: At a time when an SDPI leader was participating in a protest condemning the alleged gang rape incident said to have taken place at Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, his son was arrested on the charge of harassing a Dalit woman. This incident happened at Puttur in Dakshina Kannada district.

The arrested happens to be Mohammed Faizal. He is a resident of Chikkamudnoor village near Puttur. He was taken into custody by the Andhra Pradesh police on Tuesday October 6. It is said that Faizal got introduced to a lady from Andhra Pradesh through Instagram. It is said that the acquaintance between the two turned into a love affair and resulted in a physical relationship. It is alleged that the youngster threatened the lady with uploading her photographs in social websites.

Mohammed Faizal

The lady complained to the police of her state about this harassment. The Andhra police who visited Puttur on Tuesday took him away. His father Abdul Hameed Salmara is a leader of SDPI. He had participated in the protest held on Tuesday to condemn the gang rape which allegedly happened at Hathras.

The fact that his son got arrested for sexual harassment at a time he himself was protesting against rape of a woman has now put the father in an awkward position.

Women caught in the act of adultery are promptly stoned to death !!!! whereas, the concept of adultery is not defined for men, they have the privilege of having multiple wives and a harem of sex slaves !! Hathras rape, is a heinous crime !! The frustration, agony, of opposition parties are very evident as they are outmaneuvered, totally sidelined and hence irrelevant !!! These bewildered netas and their dubious allies, are unleashing enemies of our nation, hoping to annihilate and dethrone, the present political dispensation !!!!

Nobody is dethroning any political dispensation but the very dispensation itself by protecting, defending and shielding the criminals which is happening repeatedly and in broad day light. If this is not crime to you then you should yourself not fit to rule and should step down owning responisibility.

No denying of sexual assault on women on every corner of the country but they are been dealt quickly and promptly and strictly as per the law and no protection or shielding and defending the criminal by the officials. The present agitation in Hathras is due to yogi's support to rapists. Are you so blind to see the difference???????..

It is ur assumption that YOGI is shielding the culprits. You have blinkers so your vision is limited. Regarding Rajasthan incidents you r "ostrich" mentality. So no use in explaining to you.
Regarding "hatras" daily takes new turns and it is no surprise that both culprits and victim r in good terms for for a long time. So the report of AICC/ex khangress MLA there was no rape happened. You just go thru the latest news and then comment.
It is well written rule that if all the types of anti social ppl r against the ruler means the ruler is good and honest. Here it is MODI /YOGI /BJP

Shuba mangalore ,Father cant be responsible for what son does.Father protested for what others also do gangrapeing a Dalit girl.Same time what his son did in the first instant fell in love with other girl and threatend her to publish if she complains to others of their sexual life.Father cant be held responsible what he does out of home. Not everyone confess about ones private life at home.what father did is right.Son must have taken the advantage of fathers position. He thought when threatens she will keep quite and he can continue where it stopped. He is not a model son.He misused her.If he is upright enough would stay for his deed, not threaten.

Rape can't be predicted to stop in the first place, irrespective of caste, religion this henious crime is committed.
    1. Prostitution has to be legalized
    2. Eaducate the younger generation about relationship and the meaning of it.
    3. Ban pornography completely.

Our country is the best to live, at least the people who returned from abroad will know about it. Don't do politics in these kind of issues

In this case, it is the fault by the son not by father, besides this in Hathras case that's also the fault of the culprit not by government but some people start to politicize the matter with Government. This stops only by changing our poor laws not by changing any government or resignation.

Mohammed Faizal seems to be a major. His father is not responsible for the bad deed of the son.
Abdul Hameed salmara should be appreciated for raising his voice for the victim of Hathras rape victim and not to be mocked at for his son's wrongdoings.

It really a sad to see parents raise children with so much hope with so many sacrifices. It is an awkward situation for them when they hear their children are indulged in shameful acts.
Just want to express my sympathies to Abdul Hameed salmara.

Dinesh. Laws were made strict after nirbhaya case. What needs to change is conviction rate which is a dismal 28% according to ncrb data. Add to that the duration it takes in the judicial probe. Police reforms too are the need of the hour as in some cases convincing evidence isn't produced in court.
Rape itself is a failure of government and is condemned every time. But in case of hathras and unnao the government and administration have tortured the family of the victim after such heinous crimes. And that's why the outrage.
