Kundapur: Elderly woman commits suicide by consuming pesticide

Kundapur, Sep 30: An elderly woman consumed pesticide that is used to spray to the crop of their farmland succumbed to the poison after she was taken to the hospital.

The woman is identified as Akkamma Shedthi (80), mother of Bojaraja Shetty, a resident of Yedoor Hosmakki of Ajri village in the taluk.

Akkamma took this extreme step at 8 am of September 28. She was immediately rushed to Chinmayi hospital of the taluk but succumbed to the damage the pesticide had caused in her body on November 29 at 4 pm.

A case in this connection is registered at Shankaranarayana police station under sl no 30/2020 and CrPC 174.
