Kundapur, Sep 26: The presence of indigenous breeds of cows has added to the impressive presence of UVA Meridian Amusement Park near Koteshwar.

It is difficult to point out what UVA Meridian does not have. In a nutshell, it has hi-tech auditorium, luxury hotel, outdoor auditorium, helipad, amusement park that is unique for Udupi district, waterpark, beautiful spot rich with lush green environment that is ideal for recuperation etc.

Now, the look of the facility has become further enhanced with the addition of indigenous breeds of cows, as well as ducks, rabbits etc.

Coronavirus came at a wrong time and lockdown delivered a deadly blow to all kinds of businesses. The entrepreneurs and their industries received a deadly blow and scores of workers lost their jobs. UVA Meridian, Amusement Park etc are maintained by a sufficient number of workers. In order to save workers from losing their jobs and becoming vulnerable, the brains behind the UVA Meridian Vinay Kumar Shetty and Uday Kumar Shetty, decided to provide them work through agriculture and dairying.

Taking into account the fact that indigenous breeds of cows are becoming rare, they brought Gir and Sahiwal breed of cows. These cows have become an attraction for the visitors to the amusement park. Different species of ducks freely swimming in the pond, a variety of chicks, parrots, pigeons, rabbits etc also have added to the look of the facility.

Because of corona lockdown, business of the park has been hard hit. Marriages and other functions are not being held, and tourism has been delivered a deadly blow. But these brothers, instead of losing heart and dropping the workers, developed 15 acres of areca and coconut plantations and also planted paddy.

Uday Kumar Shetty and Vinay Kumar Shetty agree that because of coronavirus, they faced problems, but they restarted the hall in June and hope that the amusement park will get permission for the opening of the amusement park for the general public in this month. They said that the amusement park is maintained regularly and will be opened for the public as soon as government permission is received. They said that they diverted to agriculture and dairying on a small scale just to provide work for the workers.

UVA Meridian has been contributing in its own way to tourism. It was the first to introduce heli-tourism to the district. The entrepreneurs have taken corona lockdown as a challenge and moved ahead by undertaking new activities. They want to add something new and attract tourists. UVA Meridian’s Amusement Park is ready with renewed look for welcoming people.
