Bengaluru, Sep 23: The Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) brought Shoaib, accused in Bengaluru serial bomb blasts case of 2008 after he evaded arrest for 12 long years, to the city on Tuesday, September 22.

After the serial blasts, Shoaib had fled to Saudi Arabia where he was laying low. The police from the city came to know that he was caught and jailed for a criminal case in that country. They took up the matter with the central government and issued red corner notice for his arrest. After the period of his sentencing was completed he was deported from Saudi Arabia.

The central security forces which took notice of this brought the accused on Monday and handed him over to the ATS here. ATS head and assistant police commissioner, Venugopal led a team which took him into custody. He was produced in the special court and taken into police custody for further interrogation.

Explosive procurement: Shoaib also played an important role in the serial blasts in the city. He is of Kerala origin. He had decided the spots where bombs can be planted, prepared sketches for the same, procured raw materials and spare parts needed to manufacture the bombs and supplied the same to his gang. He also participated in secret meetings held about serial blasts.

Shoaib, who was in direct contact with the suspect identified as A1, came to the city along with his accomplices. He transported live bombs and planted them at nine spots as per the police version. ATS sources said that they have already pooled sufficient evidence against Shoaib and that the charge sheet would be filed in the court after holding a further investigation.

NIA knows about him otherwise they wont arrest him or they wont issue the red corner notice which is very evident that he has done the evil act and punishment is encounter only. No judicial custody nor the police custody we doesnt want any kind further information from him and even he will not reveal it.
