Bengaluru, Sep 12: Karnataka has reached the top slot in India in creating start-up friendly (new ventures) environment according to the start-up ranking 2019 list released by the Union government.

Karnataka and Kerala are jointly declared as the leading states in the country according to the list released by department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPITT).

In the second edition of ranking Gujarat (within states) and Nicobar Islands are added to the list of states with 100 percent exhibitionism. States are rated on seven parameters of organizational support, ease of implementation, reduction in public purchase, protection, financial aid and aid for the adventure industry. In total 22 states and three UTs took part in the workshop. Other states are divided as 'Leader States' and 'Aspiring Leader States'.

In the start-up list Bihar, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan and Chandigarh have secured place in the leader states list, while Haryana, Jharkhand, Punjab, Telangana and Uttarakhand have found place in aspiring leader states list. Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh are added to the leader states list.

Among the Union Territories (UT) Chandigarh is placed in the leader states category. Nagaland, Mizoram and Sikkim have secured a place in the aspiring leader list. Due to the easiness of rules at central and state levels, more and more start-ups are registering themselves on DPIIT. In the time of Covid-19 pandemic also 8,550 new companies have registered themselves all over the country.

Every state government has registered start ups. The number of such start-ups in the country in 580 districts is 36,550. Indian start up system is recognized as the third best friendly system in the world.
