District in-charge Kota opposes IT office merger of M'luru-Panjim, writes letter to FM Sitharaman

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SD)

Mangaluru, Sep 3: Disappointed with the decision to merge the office of the principal commissioner of Income Tax administration, Mangaluru with the principal commissioner of Income Tax administration of Panjim in Goa, Kota Srinivas Poojary, the minister in charge of Dakshina Kannada district has written a letter to the Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman strongly opposing the move and asking her to instruct the concerned officials to refrain from merging.

In the letter addressed to the finance minister, Kota enclosed two memorandums that were previously sent to the ministry on August 28, by the Udupi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Incorporated) Karnataka and Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Udupi.

The district in-charge has pointed out the genuineness of the two organizations and has urged the finance minister to consider the points mentioned in the memorandums.

Stating the validity of the points mentioned in the memorandum, Kota requested Nirmala Sitharaman to direct the concerned officials not to merge the two principal commissioners of Income-tax administration.

Except Mr.George Fernandes and Mr.Srinivas Mallya no MP from coastal Karnataka did anything for their people. George Fernandes even though got elected to Loksabha from Bihar , He was responsible for Konkan Railway and Indian navy's naval base INS Kadamba at Karwar. Srinivas Mallya was responsible for Mangalore Airport, Sea port ( NMPT) at Panambur and NITK ( formerly KREC) at Surathkal. Present MP's could not even save three nationalised banks Syndicate, Vijaya and Corporation from merger. They cannot even get a railway division for Mangalore or a gas pipe line. The state of national highways is bad. Irrespective of his politics , Deve Gowda developed Hassan from a sleepy town to modern one well connected by train and roads to capital Bengaluru and other basic infrastucture. Nowadays many people travel to Bengaluru from Hassan daily for work and viceversa.

When technology and dominion of tax evaluation is removed altogether and when your tax filing can be evaluated anywhere so that there is zero favoritism, why this obsession with maintaining identity?

Tax evasion by influence is removed. Does it mean that honorable district-in-charge is unaware of the the motive?

... when those coastal Karnataka banks were nationalized, the bank higher officials should have made a point that the bank will not merge with any other bank in future or change its name.

This again proves that no government is bothered about the identity of DK and Udupi. Our districts no matter how good we do are tossed around like a piece of trash.
