Chikkamagaluru, Aug 13: Courage has been hailed as an essential virtue for success and also for handling tough situations. A lady employee who showed timely brashness proved this adage right, and succeeded in saving her owner from possible loss running into lacs of rupees.

This incident happened at Sringeri in the district. The woman with her instant act, made a robber who had come armed with a sickle to beat a hasty retreat. The entire act was captured in the CCTV cameras fitted in the shop.

Screengrabs from CCTV footage

A man wearing a face mask and holding a long sickle, suddenly barged into a jewellery shop owned by Nagappa Shet. The shop has only women employees, and the robber seemed to be aware of that in advance. He brazenly moved into the shop and flashed his sickle at which the lady employees became fearful. One of the lady employees, who mustered every ounce of the courage she had, suddenly pounced on the robber and drove him away.

The lady noticed that the robber, who was rest assured that the ladies in the shop could not do him any harm, became a little relaxed and started looking here and there. When his attention was away, the lady took a chair in her hands, and brought it down forcefully on the robber. The robber, who was taken aback by this sudden attack which was like a bolt from the blue, ran away with the three golden chains he was holding at that time. The women raised an alarm at which people nearby tried to catch hold of the robber but failed in their objective.

The local police who have registered a case are investigating.

Super ,this lady had courage atleast to give a try to dry away the robber and save her employer.Very riskant act.One should say thank God he didnt turn back and attack with sickle. Then would be situation still dangerous.Mostly when women are working at night ,men see their chance to rob their money at their work place.we hear everywhere this. Not only rob them but also kill them if alone ,not to be
recognized. This lady should be given a good increament in salary and a letter of braveness.

One should use some tricks when such situation/incidents takes place. The lady has done a right thing. But she should have hit hard with the chair. Anyway one should appreciate the courage the lady has sown. She should be awarded by the owner.

The daring act of man also equally commendable as he caught him knowing the danger. Lady's act smart enough to chase him away but not enough to catch or trap him. He escaped all because of sickle was in his hand.

If the man was smart enough, having a chair nearby to hit him on his head to trap the Robber very easily . But the lady hitting him is not enough to destabilize him.

Lan Sir, evenif i learn karate, i willl not be able to hit the robber either by chair or by the tricks learnt by karate....i will faint and that stupid robber will loot all the gold and run away. Next day, i will loose the job for my bravery. There are karate classes here. Do you have any idea of opening up one around Belman junction?? First seek guru's permission...

Bhandar Sir, such threatening words won't affect the robbers at all.....Your sentences which you mentioned in your comment are very loving and robber will be tempted to rob the gold [ chain, rings, bangles that they wear and mobiles, umbrellas too (now, raining) ] belonging to the employees also...Before saying kon tho sor, knife will be pointed towards the employees....Really humorous. I had a hearty laugh...🙏 😆😆😆 Now Lan Sir is busy in finding another plan in defence... Definitely pulitha adaar and taboor....

I think the lady got the courage as a man came to attack the robber and managed to grab the sickle. He took a lot of risk as well as robber would have attacked him with the sickle. The lady hitting the robber with chair is brave as well.
