Mangaluru: DK ranks first in quarantine watch - Reward for efficient surveillance

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Aug 11: Officials in Dakshina Kannada (DK) district have been closely monitoring the people identified as primary and secondary contacts. This is being managed through the quarantine watch mobile software developed by the state's COVID war room. As far as quarantine watch is concerned, DK district has been doing very well successively and by recording good progress, has bagged the first spot in the state under this head.

Those who violate quarantine rules are being subjected to strict measures in the district. Already first information reports have been registered against 164 contacts who were found to have violated the rules.

In the coming days, stricter monitoring will be enforced, and besides registering first information reports against the violators of quarantine rules, the concerned will be sent to compulsory institutional quarantine centres, a release from the office of the district deputy commissioner here stated.

All said and done in electronic media. It works completely on an app
If everything goes well and trustworthy. There's a registered mobile number given by the traveller at the time of registration. The authorities can trace the movements only through the app if the registered mobile is moved from place to place by the person concerned. What if the person moves out with some other mobile without the regd app mobile. As long as the trustworthy people really obey the rules it works well and hence the people of DK should be appreciated and not only the authorities.

Will appreciate if the authorities can provide a weblink to the latest quarantine rules for domestic and international passengers. No doubt the fluid situation warrants the rules to be constantly modified, but citizens returning to Mangalore would like clarity on the rules to plan their quarantine.
