The district administration, which was monitoring the Covid cases through a central system has decided to decentralize the same. It has also come up with scheme to handle the coronavirus pandemic at every taluk panchayat, gram panchayat and village level. Every village will have a coronavirus workforce.

The coronavirus workforce will have teachers, ASHA workers, youth of the village and social workers. They will be trained by the concerned officials also. This workforce will inspect every house that falls under their limits and conduct rapid test and also collect the information of symptoms of the disease and relay the same to the district administration. This information was shared by DC of the district Dr Rajendra K V.

As the cases of coronavirus infections are rising, DC Dr Rajendra K V will seek the cooperation of private doctors also. Appeal is made to the doctors of private hospitals, which cannot provide beds for Covid patients in their hospital, to work in government hospitals of the district. This arrangement is made under the rules and regulations of the government. It will become mandatory for private doctors to follow the appeal of DC in future.

The district administration led by DC has taken a positive step towards controlling the coronavirus pandemic by involving the participation of community. The district administration has also sent a message through this arrangement that it is possible to control the spread of the pandemic with the active participation of the society.
