Panaji: COVID-19 cases see 209 new infections, three dead

Panaji, Aug 1: Goa on Friday reported 209 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total count to 5,913, a health official said.

A total of 206 people were discharged during the day, taking the number of recovered cases to 4,211 and that of active cases to 1,657, he added.

Three people succumbed to the infection during the day including 50 and 49-year-old men and 73-year-old woman succumbed to the virus.

"A total of 6431 samples were tested on Thursday, of which 209 returned positive and 2203 negative. Result of 4,019 samples are awaited," the official said.
