Udupi: Police arrest notorious thief who stole money from parked car in Mangaluru

Udupi, Jul 30: The police personnel of district crime intelligence bureau (DCIB) here have succeeded in arresting a notorious thief who had stolen money from a parked car. DCIB police inspector Manjappa D R, based on information he received, arrested the accused on Wednesday July 29 from near the KSRTCl bus stand here.

Rs 2,03,700 stolen by Guruprasad from a car and a VIVO mobile phone he had with him have been seized. A plastic cover has also been taken into possession from him. Guruprasad, during the questioning, reportedly confessed to have stolen cash from a car parked near the Clock Tower in Mangaluru. A case in this connection has been registered at town police station here.

The operation was conducted by DCIB inspector Manjappa, and assistant sub-inspector Ravichandra along with other staff, under the guidance of district superintendent of police Vishnuvardhan, and assistant superintendents of police, Kumar Chandra and T R Jayashankar.
