Mangaluru: Young Prithviraj suffering from rare health disorder seeks help

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (SB)

Mangaluru, Jul 28: The birth of a child is one of the happiest occasions for any parents. From the time the child comes into the world, the parents vow to protect and provide for their kid. But, when unforeseen circumstances strike one down, it needs a miracle to get back. When Prithviraj was born, his parents were overwhelmed with joy. His birth was something they prayed and longed for. Prithviraj dreamt of life just like any other kids of age. He was raised with all the love, care and blessings from his parents, relatives and neighbours. However, fate had other plans.

One unfortunate day, Prithviraj's parents noticed something odd, a range of symptoms signalling ill health. Without a moments delay, the parents took him to Father Muller Hospital. After conducting a thorough medical check-up, the doctors informed Chetan Suvarna, father of Prithviraj that his son is suffering from Guillain-Barre Syndrome. A very rare disorder which attacks the nervous system of the body and is reported about one in every 1,000 cases. The diagnosis has come as a major blow to the family who has already spent over Rs 3 lac for the treatment.

According to the doctors, the disease will require specialized treatment, which is estimated to cost around Rs 7 lac. Given the economic condition of the family, Prithviraj's parents are finding it extremely difficult to arrange the money for the treatment.

Prithviraj and his family hail from Cascia in Mangaluru and belong to economically weaker sections of society. Chetan Suvarna, the father works as a mechanic and has been going through a tumultuous time amid coronavirus pandemic. The family has only a small piece of land to their name and no other source of income. The family is now hoping to receive help from generous hands who can pull their son out of this miserable condition.

To help Prithviraj, people are requested to send in their contribution to the details provided below:

    Dear Prithviraj,
God is with you, you will come out from this unexpected phase of life quickly. I was a victim of this GB syndrome 12 years back, I was just 25 years old at that time. Self confidence, prayers, family support and positive thinking is very important during this time, I was treated at Manipal Hospital Bangalore and post that was treated in Udyavara SDM hospital. Today I am perfectly alright. I do agree that the treatment is expensive but post treatment is important like physiotherapy etc . Today I am married and blessed with 2 kids. God bless you..

These are tough times financially for everyone. But what we give in times like these is what is most valued. Even if all of us reading this vam provide for even a mere 100 rupees it can get to this amount they need. Remember what we give is what we get. Lets do our bit whatever our circumstances.
