Coronavirus claims Udupi’s 7th victim after 54-year-old man passes away

Udupi, Jul 16: Coronavirus pandemic has taken its seventh victim in the district. Two deaths were reported on Thursday July 16. First one was a man from Udupi and the latest is a man from Kundapur.

A 54-year-old man, a resident of Maravanthe in Byndoor taluk died and it is confirmed that he was having coronavirus infection through test.

The deceased was suffering from severe asthma and he was admitted to a private hospital in Kundapur on the evening of Wednesday. He died on the way when he was being shifted to Manipal from Kundapur. His body was brought back to Kundapur and throat swab of the deceased was sent for testing. As the sample of the deceased person was taken using rapid test kit, his report was available quickly.

It is learnt that the funeral of the deceased person will be carried out on Thursday at Kundapur as per Covid protocol.
