Mangaluru: Source remains mysterious in over half of coronavirus cases

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jul 9: The coronavirus infection cases in Dakshina Kannada district are continuously increasing. But the fact that the source of infection could not be detected in more than half of the cases has posed a huge challenge for the health department.

The district has witnessed 514 infections during the last 11 days. But the department has not been able so far to establish from where these people got infected. The number includes people who got admitted into the hospital for treatment for symptoms like fever, cold, cough, breathing difficulty etc. There are also people who were randomly tested when they visited hospitals for the treatment of other problems. It appears as if those who did not have any primary or secondary contact also are suffering from this infection. A separate team of doctors has been working to find the primary and secondary sources of infection.

Till Wednesday, 1,542 coronavirus positive cases have been confirmed and 819 are being treated in different hospitals. As many as 28 have lost their lives and 695 have cured.

In Ullal, after a woman died of the infection, 160 persons in the area were randomly tested. Out of them, 60 were found to be suffering from the infection. It is said that if such random tests are performed in other places too, a large number of coronavirus positive cases might emerge.

Should infections worry or the source? focus should be how to treat symptomatic patients who need hospital stay & not on asymptomatic people.
The rains bring in common cold & respiratory related illnesses, as researchers had stated before any of the above infections too give false positive to covid 19 if tested at that time as exosomes released by body's defense always have similar corona features too.
Time to end these fear & panic actions & take normal pre-covid protocols. Scale down the lock downs, stop aggressive testings & bring normalcy back as time & again it is proved to be less aggressive than flu infection & doesn't qualify to be known as pandemic.
Comorbidity always used to cause deaths before covid scare started & will continue, don't label every death other than accidents & suicides as covid deaths. India needs to take the lead to move away from blindly following WHO or CDC decisions & should lead the whole world away from the fear mongering some lobbies want to continue to ruin our nation & to make money through future vaccine agendas.

Believe in logic and your education not govt of India who are still denying community transmission. Those who are with the govt and their blind policies are bound to suffer . When u don’t know the source of infection then this is a confirmed case of community transmission. Stay safe stay away from national media ,health ministry and home ministry Advisories.

Not able to understand which idiots from the health authorities have stopped paracemotal and cough syrup at the pharmacies. Due to rainy season cold and fever is common. To get these medicines we need the prescription and the doctors insist to go to govt fever centers. Hope covid mafia is playing a great role in making money with playing with the life of patients.

Younger people : At the first sign of fever or cough, isolate yourself, take paracetamol and keep observing your temperature and breathing. You should be ok in 8-14 days. By isolating you will not spread the virus.

Older people : Do the above but also buy an oximeter. Keep close track whether your oxygen level is dipping below 90. If it does call for medical help immediately.

No one is going to reveal the exact truth of where they went. Whom they visited.
Why waste time in finding out the source.
When the cases were less. It was worth it, but now with mass increase , dumb management is wasting time finding source on these dumb fellows who dont reveal the truth.

Find some methods to contain the spread.... it has crossed the limits now.
You are bound to get the virus, live with it and get cured.
..plan properly on how to give treatment for patients who are not covid19.
There are 100 other diseases which need treatment.

The people were lartagic and got the disease on to themselves.. why worry about them.
Concentrate on how to handle other things... there are thousands who want to get treatment in hospitals for other things...
And ,I heard that a corono mafia is come up ,trying to make money....
    To hell with the country..

Corona Virus is now Airborne & very difficult to find out the origin.
Cold & Flu are very common ailments during this season so please don't get your self admitted out of panic because you could get affected from the other patients in the Hospital.
Visit a doctor only if you are having Cold, Flu, Body-pain & Breathing problems ...

Jossey, in most cases they came to the house to take swab. The virus is airborne in enclosed places like lifts, or closed rooms where there is no proper ventilation.
