Bantwal: Video of youths dancing to music goes viral, lockdown violation alleged

Bantwal, Jul 5: A video showing a number of youngsters dancing to loud music in alleged violation of lockdown norms has gone viral on social media.

The video is said to have been recorded during a marriage function that was held on July 2 in the taluk.

The video shows youths dancing under disco lights to loud music and singing using microphones.

It is learnt that the organizers of the marriage had taken the permission of local panchayat to conduct the marriage function with maximum of 50 guests.

It is being verified by the police whether the video of the youths dancing was indeed taken during the lockdown time. The sources at police station have said that suitable legal action will be taken against the erring people, if it is confirmed that the group dance had taken place during the lockdown time.

ASI of Bantwal police station is investigating the matter.
