Mangaluru, Jul 4: Deputy commissioner (DC) Sindhu B Rupesh said on Saturday July 4 that strict curfew will be imposed and there will be total lockdown in Dakshina Kannada on Sunday July 5. Everything except milk, newspaper, and medical shops and hospitals will remain closed.

“There will be no sale of vegetables and meat. The orders apply to the entire Dakshina Kannada district. People should remain indoors,” she said.

Police at Lalbagh

Police personnel in Mangaluru have already begun enforcing orders for complete state-wide lockdown tomorrow. Vehicles that are arriving after 8 pm are not allowed to enter the city. Barricades are erected by traffic police at Lalbagh to restrict traffic. Only vehicles that are going out from the city are being permitted to leave. Shops and commercial complexes are already closed.

    Dear Sindhu Roopesh,
    My question is why dont you give landing permission to the chartered flights coming from the Gulf Countries. Vande Bharath missions flights are going only to the Kerala State and not a single flight to Bangalore or Mangalore. Instead "Vande Bharat" you can name it as "Vande Kerala". Why this kind of Negligency for Kannadiga's? There are many Kannadigas are stranded without job, without accommodation, without food, without madical treatment. Many Kannadiga's are stranded here illegally without visa. They dont have money to pay for their room rent, for their food and from where they can pay their immigration fine. Do you want them to go to Jail? Our politicians are sleeping and please wake them up and do something for the poor Kannadiga's.

    Opening of travel restrictions between states created all the problem. Green zones became red. Now trying to make good by imposing restrictions. Udupi 's repots were excellent. Changes happened only after people came from other states.

    Dont say like this. Then wat u think,? People need to stay where they r till this pandemic end? Impossible. Think frm there side.

    The reason for the spread is, peoples not doing perfect querentine. They r not aware or afraid of it. Here govt putting seal on tge hands. Wat for? No use of it. That seal gets rubbed max with in 4 to 6 days. Then peoples will start moving out.
    This foolish govt sitting with a satisfaction that they have sealed in there hands, so that they wont go out.
    Officials need to watch each and everyone strictly. Public need to be get more awareness. Need another lockdown for atleast 2weeks. Then only this can be controlled.

    A strict lock down for 14 days and a very well organized awareness program to report any symptoms in those 14 days is only the solution.

    I really cannot understand one day curfew to fight Covid 19. No logic behind this, any how on Sundays the crowd in public places is to the minimum. Corona spreads everyday and also during the day not after 8 pm.

    How about we make a new rule only keep nights open and morning full lockdown for two weeks . This will reduce public and also will help people in reducing the virus spread think differently and win over corona

    My suggestion is that week days there should lockdown till monsoon gets over may be Aug 15th. People do not understand the situation. they go around without mask or mask below their chin. This should be very seriously taken.i hope administration will look into this matter

    I think our government thinks that corona virus spread only on sundays. Thats why they put lockdown on sunday.
    Now corona virus is trapped. Corona virus will suicide without finding anyone to spread in sundays 😀

    At one side there is pandemic and other side hunger! Hunger is more dangerous than this pandemic. If this lockdown helps in any way, we all should support it. Also, People have to be more aware and proactively take actions to contain this pandemic.
