Indian couple in Dubai killed by Pakistani intruder during villa break-in

Daijiworld Media Network – Dubai

Dubai, Jun 24: In a case of break-in and robbery, an Indian couple was murdered in Dubai, in the early hours of June 18.

Hiren Adhiya and Vidhi Adhiya, the couple who were in their 40s and residing at a villa in Arabian Ranches in Dubai, were murdered by a Pakistani national. Their two children, aged 13 and 18, were at home at the time. The elder daughter was stabbed when she came face to face with the accused, but escaped with minor injuries.

Hiren Adhiya was a senior director at a Sharjah oil and gas contractor. He along with his family had moved to Dubai around three years ago. They have relatives in Gujarat, India.

It is gathered that the accused was part of a maintenance team who worked on the family's home two years ago. The accused, later unemployed, had seen the family had large quantities of money and jewellery and returned to rob them.

Indians when they take up senior postions (CEO / COO) should be very tactful and also fair in dealing with workers. Eventhough loss of life is very sad, people should realise that the routine ill-treatment / lack of respect for workers may not work outside India...this is a rare case in gulf when Indian top executive and wife were victims of murder...However it happens once in a while in african countries (especially Nigeria) where local employees shoot the Expatriate top guy of the company...

Rich Indians abroad must maintain a low profile for a few months ahead ..not show off ..
Post pandemic there is likely increase in theft and burglary .. Indians would be likely targets as they are easy and soft targets and non violent by nature.
To protect yourself ..have a few steel rods of arms length under your bed.Take the theives by surprise.
To make things worst ..hope this is not part of some organized hate crime against indians based on their ethnicity and religion.

Rathnakar.. I will not deny that in Congress there are chors. But many of them have gone behind bars and have faced the wrath of the Lord. Lets hope this is a eye opener for Congress.. After all it is India's oldest party.

Rich people have to take some precautions.
They don't show their wealth and extravagant life to

the purpose or motive for crime has to be confirmed...quite possible that this could be result of labour dispute/grievance/non-payment issue...many corporate executives at senior level think that their staff working for their company are like personal servants...

probably they have underpaid him for the work he did in their villa (less than what was promised)... there is no news that he has committed robbery in this incident...

what do you mean 'maintenance company'.. from where do you get this? there is no mention of 'maintenance company' in the report nor in my comment...he was part of the maintenance team, that is what the report says...dispute may be regarding payment of his dues...fyi...lived in gulf for a long time myself...

no fool will go into a villa for robbery when there are 2 adults and 2 grown up children inside the villa...this is a crime... he has gone there with the purpose of murder...if he was a robber, immediately after being confronted, he would run away from the same path through which he entered the villa...
