Mangaluru, Jun 3: Earlier on Tuesday, a banner of ‘Veer Savarkar flyover’ had appeared on Pumpwell flyover along with Bajrang Dal graffiti. Now, a banner reading ‘Rani Abbakka flyover’ has appeared on Thokkottu flyover. Further, a similar graffiti with Bajrang Dal written across the sidewalls has also been observed. It is said that this action was reportedly acknowledged by the organisation on social media as well.
In the post alleged to be put by Bajrang Dal, the organistaion has claimed that the memory of many freedom fighters who have sacrificed themselves for the country's independence just exist in memories. The organisation maintained that the next generation of independent fighters will be remembered for their sacrifice and for the same reason, the city's main roads will be named after them.
"You will come in darkness and steal, but the name of the patriots is eternal,” it was said in the alleged post.
In addition to the banners on flyovers, a ‘Koti Chennayya Central Maidan’ banner was observed at Nehru Maidan in the city.
