Even a 'Bahubali PM' could not face corona pandemic: Sibal

New Delhi, May 31 (IANS): A day after the Narendra Modi-led NDA government patted itself on the completion of first year of its rule in the second term, Congress leader Kapil Sibal on Sunday took a jibe at Modi, saying that even the "Bahubali Prime Minister could not face the coronavirus pandemic and pushed the country into more distress".

The senior Congress leader lashed out at the Centre for what he called "mishandling of a pandemic that forced people into a crisis".

"During the lockdown crisis, people helped each other. After March 24, the government had to subside its divisive agenda; prior to the lockdown, the government agenda was only on polarisation," he said.

Sibal cited National Population Register, Citizenship (Amendment) Act and misuse of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act against activists and said while the Union Home Minister stated in Parliament that the amended UAPA will be used against terrorists only but just the opposite was happening.

Sibal said that people walking on the roads to their native states are a testimony of the government's "apathy" as many people have lost their lives due to starvation.

The Congress leader alleged that the Prime Minister has not able to handle the migrant crisis.

"Nepal is looking in our eyes and there is the standoff with China -- why is the Prime Minister not looking them in their eyes," asked Sibal.

He also asked the government to come clean on the standoff and tell the people about the real picture. Even Rahul Gandhi had earlier made the demand.

He also lashed out at the Solicitor General over his 'vultures and prophets of dooms' comments during a Supreme Court hearing.

High Command khush hua with the barrage of allegations uttered from the very comfortable luxury of office.

Issuing such periodic statements is the only way of reminding Indians than a so called opposition exists.

The heart wrenching scenes of the labourers walking back home with their pregnant wives and little children should stir the conscience of anybody. I wonder if anyone from the government has seen these pictures. Isn't this a damning commentary on the failure of the government to take care of its hapless people? This government is busy celebrating its six years in office but instead it should cover itself with shame for its utter failure to come to the rescue of its people when it mattered.

Coalition or congress is not ruling the country but they have done thier part more than the govt in the centre. But with thier limited resources they can not look after the whole country. So better BJP in the centre accept incapability and step down then the opposition take the ruling seat and look after the whole nation better than what BJP as a ruling in the centre is doing now. What are you doing in Bahrain without job, only commenting job. You can come down and help your own people.

You are totally blind. He is very much in India and doing a marvellous job of advising the BJP govt in the centre and cautioning them and BJP govt in the centre have appreciated his ideas and successfully implemented them. Eventually BJP govt in centre has to agree to RaGa's potato machine idea and impliment it too without any other option. Wait and see, Oh how can you see?!?.,?!?!?....

First better to come out of ur fake ID
Niw leave it apart. So Sibal too agreed that present PM is BAHUBALI "that is the main point in his comment. Now coming to Maharastra what ur potato machine wala party did? Nothing and tried to cover under the umbrella that we r not ruling? 12 cabinet ministers from khangress and how can he say we r not in Govt /decision taking? What they r doing......... Vodpuna?
We have seen how khangress backed media and leftist tried to post pic of different countries and to blame OUR OWN PM
Just see the population of India the density per KM and the death rate due to covid 19 with other so called developed country with less population and density too low compare to us

    Who said we r crying
Crying is left to mini mini powder and his dad. Our Bahubali is doing what best can be done in the present moment. He is not like your pappu or Sibal just sitting in AC room and passing comments. We know the Dongi Sibal who talks one way inside the Rajya Sabha and quite opp outside like CAA wiil take citizenship of one particular religion and we have to fight for our rights and doddamma said come to street to fight against CAA etc and inside he said khangress never said CAA will result in cancelling anybody citizenship. Crying is left to Doddamma too who cried whole night after visiting "batla house encounter"
