On Ladakh standoff, India reminds China of all past agreements

New Delhi, May 28 (IANS): The government on Thursday invoked a plethora of bilateral agreements signed by India and China to resolve border related issues, as the stand-off between the soldiers of the two sides continued along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh.

Praising the defence forces, the official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, Anurag Srivastava, at a virtual media briefing said that Indian troops take a very responsible approach towards border management and strictly follow the procedures laid out in various bilateral agreements and protocols with China to resolve any issue that may arise in the border areas.

"Our armed forces scrupulously follow the consensus reached by our leaders and the guidance provided," he said, adding that India is committed to the objective of maintaining peace and tranquility in the border areas with China.

Since 1993, he said, India and China have signed several bilateral agreements and protocols to ensure peace and tranquility in the border areas.

Srivastava recalled that the two countries signed an Agreement on Maintenance of Peace and Tranquility along the Line of Actual Control in the India-China border areas in 1993; Agreement on Confidence Building Measures in the Military Field along the LAC in 1996; Protocol on Modalities for the implementation of the Confidence Building Measures in the Military Field along the LAC in 2005; Agreement on the establishment of a working mechanism for consultation and coordination on India-China Border Affairs in 2012; and the Border Defence Cooperation Agreement in 2013.

The two sides, he said, have established mechanisms both at the military and diplomatic levels to resolve situations which may arise in the border areas peacefully through dialogue, and continue to remain engaged through these channels. At the same time, India, he said, remains firm in its resolve to ensuring the country's sovereignty and national security.

Late Prime Minister Vajpyaee was limping but still reclaimed 'Kargil'. But PM Modi's 56 inch 'Mr.Muscle' has no valor to fight against Chinese who have aggressively occupied Indian sovereign land from Ladakh to Arunchal Pradesh.
When Chinese had standoff in Aruchal Pradesh, he send his unproductive then Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharama who later found teaching 'Namste' instead of strong diplomatic protest and United Nation session.
The BJP and PM Modi's surgical strikes is only possible when there are elections like 'Surgical strike' before Uttar Pradesh and 'Pulwama Attack' to retaliate before general elections.

What is the point of buying 'Rafale Jet' for three times the price and paying US $3 billion deal for purchase of 15 Chinook and Apache attack helicopter?

Forget about Pakistan. It is no match in front of India's mighty forces. It is time to show how much devotion RSS political wing BJP has for 'Bharat Mata' which they worship.

War is between equals and not with world Super power. China made it self most powerful nation on earth with discipline and hard work. While going to war one should know the enemy and it's economical & leadership qualities. India is not an organized country and may loose it pants while fighting war with China or with it all weather friend Pakistan. A nation which cannot feed & shelter it migrants workers in it own soil or cannot bring it millions of overseas stranded Citizens has no chance to win a war with China. We should know that our economy is collapsed, Leadership has no education, Our leaders have no ability or wisdom in winning a war with China or it supporter Pakistan. We only make fake news in Delhi.

It's not the response from the people, it's preprogrammed EVMs verdict. You will never dare to go to elections without EVMs, I challenge you will bite dust.

    Mr. Rathan, Mangalore

In 1962 I was a student at Government High School in Mangalore. Nehru did not gave vast piece of land to China in 1962 war. China took it in Exchange of Dalai Lama.

India took Dalai Lama from China & India supported Tibets Independent from China and in exchange China defeated India in a war and as a victory it took part of India.

Kashmir was an independent country & belong to Kashmiris before 1947. India was not a country before 1947 and was created after 1947 by taking over Princely states like Hyderabad, Mysore, Baroda, Gwalior, Kerala, British, french & Portuguese territories.

Kashmiris asking What is belong to them and one day may get it from Pakistan & India.

Do not change history like changing Street & City name.
