Bengaluru: Techie giving call for coronavirus proliferation denied bail

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, May 26: Mohammed Mujeeb, a software engineer working here, who had given call through the social media to make efforts to extensively spread coronavirus by sneezing in the public, and who was arrested for this offence, was denied bail by the state high court.

A high court bench chaired by Justice K S Mudgal, which heard the bail plea filed by Mujeeb, refused to grant bail, and quashed the application.

Mohammed Mujeeb

The high court observed that the applicant, who is working as a software engineer in a prestigious company, is expected to be aware of the after effects of his actions. The content of the posts he made in social sites, being an educated man having a good employment, are likely to harm the country's harmony, integrity, brotherhood and unity. This is an attempt to create panic among the people at a time when the entire world is facing a critical situation due to coronavirus, the bench observed.

As per the investigation papers, the applicant had earlier spent some years in Bahrain and Kuwait. He had developed religious fundamentalism and anti-national ideals. It is learnt that he had shared WhatsApp number of Pakistan to keep abreast with Islamic information. National Investigation Agency too has been investigating his connections and it is in progress. Therefore, the high court said, granting of bail under these circumstances is impossible.

Mujeeb, through Facebook, had called upon people of his community to go out and join hands with one another by sneezing in the public to spread the virus. He had also asked in his post to make sure that this information is spread to everyone towards ending the world. He also had mentioned that his stun gun is ready to kill the dogs.

A local, Mahesh Mallayyanava, had filed complaint with the Electronics City police station. Mujeeb was arrested on March 9. The court where he was produced had refused bail application and remanded him to judicial custody.

I don't go buy his looks but his words are unacceptable and against the secular foundation of the nation. He need to severe community service punishment and offer unconditional apology for Hindu brothers.

At the same time he is thought are against the teaching of Islam. Such views are problematic and reason for entire community being blamed for one man wrong.

In my view he may be gone through some communal violence he may have lost some his loved ones which he wanted to avenge or may be wrong company of people.

    According to your last statement,

"In my view he may be gone through some communal violence he may have lost some his loved ones".

You mean almost 6 LAKH Hindus were forced to leave Kashmir during "Exodus of Kashmiri Hindus", they all should become terrorist ???., All of them faced Violence isnt it ???.

Sir, Only the people who suffer knows the pain better. May Kashmiri or any communal riots regardless of his/her relatives. The eye for eye solution will never heal the pain.
    It needs reconciliation and forgiveness.
You know little about Kashmir. But even after 'Pandits' left the valley they took care of the temples. They have properties still in their own names and never occupied by Kashmiris like post partition happend on both sides of the country.
Avenging the anger for someone else mistake is not my thinking. I believe in universal brotherhood.

Terrorism around the world, are the brainchild of the radicalized, emerging from the cocoon of effluent, well educated families, predominantly from the middle east regions... Osama bin laden, was a economic, business administration graduate, with a Civil engineering degree.. his successor Ayan-al-Zawahiri was an eye surgeon. Hence it is not suprising that radicalized professionals are spearheading Jehad, using terrorism as a weapon to accomplish their mission !!! The recent Markaz event at Delhi n the deliberate attempts to spread Covid19 pandemic across our nation should be an eye opener !!! Hate preacher, Dr Zakir Naik is a surgeon, s fugitive holed up in Malaysia... Whereas this M.Mujeeb, a software engineer, deliberately wanted to sabotage the health of all our countrymen.... There are legions of such sleeep cells, active with the help of disgruntled political netas in our nation !!!

We need to appreciate both the complainant and the police for taking action against this individual. He is a typical example of how an individual can bring a bad name to his religion in no time. Educated, certainly he is, emerged as a burden to the society which brought him up. Hope he will reform after this episode which is likely to end with a good jail term.

May be educated, but his facial style is exactly like the ISIS style...

...very closely trimmed mustache, unrtimmed beard, etc.

ISIS remnants have been claiming that coronavirus was sent by God to destroy the infidels.

With the man talking like the ISIS, the authorities should investigate if there is more than just the virus.

America already faced problem during 9/11 wherein all highly qualified people engaged to destroy WTC. Why not they utilise there mind and brain for good purpose. Venom flowing aplenty to disturb ongoing in the society. By looting cannot able to achieve anything. Only thru hardship can obtain equal respects in the society. Small community like Parsis moved from Persian Gulf today established themselves and well off in all the fields. See sindhi community who migrated from Sindh are also doing better in the society. What's the problem of these people...remain backward and need each and everything like others.

Some people are still NOT ready to accept Science & existence of Virus.

They think it is God, who will decide, who will survive & who will die.

They think, since they are Near to the God, they will not die, if they get Corona virus. But, other people, will die.

But, if you look at the statistics, that is wrong. All kind of people have died.
