Khazi of Mangaluru Twaka Ahmed Musliyar and Udupi Alhaj Bekal Ibrahim Musliyar on Friday May 22 said that with not sighting of the moon on Friday and the 30-day Ramadan ending on Saturday, Eid-ul-Fitr in coastal districts will be celebrated on Sunday, May 24.

The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of the month of Ramadan, during which Muslims around the world fast every day from dawn to dusk.

Special Eid prayers are offered in congregation on the morning of the festival at Idgah and other mosques.

However, there will be no open prayer sessions on Eid-ul-Fitr this year since lockdown norms are enforced in the country.
