Bengaluru: Muzrai department's initiative - Darshan, online service through app, website

Bengaluru, May 21: Because of coronavirus lockdown, temples are out of bounds for devotees. State Muzrai department now plans to enable the devotees to have the Darshan of their deity online, pay obeisance, book for services, and also to be able to view the proceedings by making the booking online.

The department plans to develop a mobile app and a web-based software to provide details of all the services that can be rendered in 'A' category temples and information about services for which online reservations can be made.

The commissioner of the department has already written to all the deputy commissioners and executive officers of temples about direct webcast of the services offered to the Lord at the temple and puja subject to practices, traditions and customs of respective temples. The commissioner has sought a list of temples where such arrangements for online viewing can be arranged.

Mobile app

The commissioner has written to the executive officers, administrative officers and hereditary trustees of 'A’ category temples located in Bengaluru city, Bengaluru rural, Mysuru, Belagavi, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Yadagiri, Kodagu, Gadag, Chikkaballapur, Ballari, Raichur, Chitradurga, Davanagere and Udupi districts seeking details needed for mobile app and website immediately.

Spiritual Product Pvt Ltd from Mysuru has been given conditional permission to provide app and plan to develop website free of cost. The department wants to pool details of all kinds of services, charges, timing of the puja, services that can be reserved online, date on which such reservations are possible, dates which are already booked, how many services can be performed in a day, possibility of dispatching Prasadam to the concerned etc.

    Now there is Zero income for Karnataka Govt from temples for last 2 months.

    All festivals are conducted inside temple or in premises, with only Staff of the temple. No general public allowed.
