Udupi, May 2: In a press release additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Sadashiva Prabhu gave details about the procedure to be followed for leaving the district or coming into from outstation states.

The press note says, "Already CrPC section 144(3) is in implementation in the district in order to prevent the spreading of Covid-19 pandemic. Many necessary actions are already in place. The state government has asked the district administration to send migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other people from outstation states to send to their native states.

"Such people of outstation states who are residing in Udupi district now have the opportunity to submit online application on sevasindhu.karanataka.gov.in website in order to proceed to their native states.

"In the mentioned website, application in prescribed form needs to be filled and a photograph of the person along with scanned copy of any one of identification documents like voter id, aadhar card, driving licence, pan card or passport needs to be uploaded in PDF format.

"For more details public is requested to call toll free number 1077 or contact Nagaraja Rao, district statistical collection officer on his mobile 9880278233 and Pramod S R E-district project manager on mobile 9482641973."

Speaking on the inter-district movement, G Jagadeesha, Udupi district commissioner, said, "Currently, there is no permission for inter-district travel. The government itself is shifting stranded labourers who are stuck in other districts. No other persons can travel between districts. People should not visit tashildar office or DC office seeking permission for inter-district travel. It is allowed just for health reasons if necessary," he said.

Persons registering in Sevasindhu website after receiving permission from their home state can travel in their own vehicle or they can go for arrangements by the state in which they are residing at present.
