Mangaluru, Apr 29: As many 16 labourers from Shikaripura, who were stuck at Talapady, on the border of Karnataka and Kerala states since 30 days, finally proceeded towards their hometown late in the evening on Wednesday, April 29. Thanks to news aired on television channel Daijiworld TV 24X7. Chief minister B S Yediyurappa personally made arrangements to send them to Shikaripur, their home town.

The workers stranded at Talapdy had expressed difficulties being faced by them to return home. There was a pregnant woman among them. They had threatened of mass suicide if they are unable to go home. Daijiworld TV which came to know about it played a major role in helping the workers get back home.

A special programme was held on the channel. Basavaraj, personal secretary of the chief minister was contacted directly. He had responded immediately to the request by Daijiworld TV. Arrangements were made to send all the workers including the pregnant woman to their hometown at 9.30 pm on Wednesday.

As per direction from the CM’s office, the district administration arranged bus facility and sent the workers to Shikaripur at 9:30 pm.

"A big thank to Daijiworld, the local TV here in Mangaluru. They came to our rescue in the form of God. All arrangements were made for us to go home. After lockdown was announced, we were stranded here and since one week we struggled for one square meal. Now we are happily moving to our native. We thank the chief minister and his team for quick arrangements," said the pregnant women while leaving towards their hometown in the bus.

    God bless our CM, Yediyurappa! Ours is " God's blessed country" Not like Mallu land!Mallus are number 1 crooks in the world. Thy talk very big about their state. But they could not take care of few migrant workers in red flag state! Shame on Mallu CM!

    Yeddi would have acted instantly if he had informed early because he himself hailed Shikaripura like Amit Shah did when 1800 pilgrims from Gujarat stranded in Haridwar during lockdown.

    Kindly do to release kerala students from mangalore. Some students are really struggling here. Hostel students may be dont have any problem, but outside staying students are really struggling. So kindly help them too
